LiteratureA basic course aimed at helping students understand the proper way to interpret written works. The course is focused mainly with teaching students to identify themes, motifs, importance of setting, and metaphor. Basic essay skills are necessary to complete this course.
GeometryThe course presents a unified approach to plane and solid geometry. Emphasis is on the structure and the deductive nature of mathematics. Topics include congruence, similarity, parallel lines, polygons, measurement, areas and volumes. Students taking this course will be required to have a TI-** graphing calculator.
Earth Science-IIStudents taking this course will be required to have a TI-** graphing calculator
Social StudiesTurn of the Century Korean History and East Asian Studies The class begins with the rise of globalization in Asia. It will focus on nationalism, imperialism, and nation building. It will also cover the factors that led to the Korean War and why Korea is structured the way it is today. Lastly, it will cover the rise of China and Japan and end with the spread of democracy in East Asia.

Journalism This course introduces the basic principles of print and online journalism as they examine the role of printed news media in our society. They will learn investigation skills, responsible reporting, and journalistic writing techniques as they read, respond to, and write their own news and feature articles.
BiologyIn this course students will explore ecology, genetics, evolution, microorganisms, human body and animals. Exercises will aim to familiarize students with these units by going in detail in each chapter by interactive learning method.
World HistoryThe class covers both ancient and modern history. It traces people, cultures, ideas, governments, and places over time. The class will give students a greater understanding of the world and how we arrived at such a conglomeration. It begins with the birth of humanity in Africa, the mass-migration of humanity, and ends with the rise of America as a world power.

The HumanitiesThis course is the study of human culture through literature, religious writings, drama, poetry, prose, translations, and philosophy. It is similar to Language Arts, but it is more concerned with students’ understanding of a broader canon of written works and their relationship with development and civilization in the western world.
Algebra IIAlgebra II is a course designed to reinforce skills learned in Algebra I as well as introducing topics necessary for higher-level math courses. The topics given to high priority in Algebra II are solving of all types of equations and inequalities, graphing functions and solving application problems. Calculators and computer work is integrated where appropriate. Students taking this course will be required to have a TI-** graphing calculator.
ChemistryIn this course students will explore introductory Chemistry. Exercises will aim to familiarize students with units like matter and change, atomic structure, electrons in atoms, periodic table, chemical bonds and chemical reactions by going in detail in each chapter by interactive learning method.

Micro- and macroeconomic principles of markets, government policy, and household or firm decision-making. Writing ClassThis course will help students learn the process of essay writing, including drafting, revising and editing. Students also develop critical thinking skills and presentation skills. Additionally, students continue to expand their academic vocabulary and learn how to organize, paraphrase and summarize in academic written English.

CompositionA short essay, especially one written as an academic exercise (an essay is a short literary composition on a particular theme or subject, usually in prose and generally analytic, speculative, or interpretative). There are many types of short essays, including, but not limited to: 5-paragraph essay, argumenative essay, cause-and-effect essay, and comparative essay.
Pre-Calculus TrigonometryThis course provides for the development of trigonometric relationships from an understanding of the circular functions, their properties and graphs, inverse trig functions, trig equations and identities, the Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines, applications of the trig functions and polar coordinates. Topics covered in this course also include the theory of equations, exponential and logarithmic functions, matrices, determinants and basic laws of probability.

European History + US HistoryThe class is divided into two parts. The first semester will focus on European history from 1300-1900. It will cover such topics as The Renaissance, The Age of Exploration, The Church, Colonialism, and the rise of Nationalism. The second semester will focus on America from 1600-present day. It will cover such topics as The War of Independence, The Spanish-American War, The Civil War, Industrialism, WWI, WWII, Vietnam, and The Iraq War. The intention of the class is to show students how western powers came to play such an important role in the shaping of modern society.

AP Human GeographyThis course will cover all AP human geography topics and help students prepare for the AP human geography test.

Writing ClassStudents develop their abilities to compose well-developed sentence structures and paragraphs across the genres: opinion, classification, process, description, compare/contrast, and persuasion. The focus on reading is designed to help students increase their reading speed and comprehension by building up core academic vocabulary in English, social studies, science, mathematics, and technology.
Computer Science(Programing)This course introduces students to computer science concepts such as computer architecture, networks, and the Internet. Students use object-oriented programming, event-driven processes, modular computer programming, and data manipulation algorithms to produce finished software programs. They use the design process to create many programs by determining specifications, designing the software, and testing and improving the product until it meets the specifications. By the end of this course, students will have a solid foundation for further study in computer science.
PhysicsThis course is a standards-based study of fundamental physics concepts, such as measurement, calculation, and graphing in kinematics and dynamics, propagation and conservation of energy and momentum, gravitation and orbital mechanics, heat and thermodynamics, waves, optics, electromagnetic phenomena, and relativity and quantum physics. Emphasis is placed on the utilization of mathematical, analytical, data acquisition, graphical, and communication skills as well as interdisciplinary approaches to discovery.

PsychologyThis is an introductory course that broadly covers several areas of psychology. Instructional material presents theories and current research for students to critically evaluate and understand. Each unit introduces terminology, theories, and research that are critical to the understanding of psychology and includes tutorials and interactive exercises. Students learn how to define and use key terms of psychology and how to apply psychological principles to their own lives. Unit topics include methods of study, biological basis for behavior, learning and memory, development and individual differences, and psychological disorders.
근현대사이 교과목은 일반적으로 1863년 대원군 집권부터 대한제국, 일제 강점기, 광복과 대한민국 정부 수립 및 그 이후 현대까지를 주로 다루고 있으며, 국제 질서의 변동과 근대 국가 수립 운동, 일제 강점과 민족 운동의 전개, 대한민국의 발전과 현대 세계의 변화 등 총 3가지 주제를 학습한다.

AP American LiteratureThis course aims to prepare students for college-level explication and writing. The students will study literary works and their relationships between historical periods, complicated thematic elements, and motifs. It is not a reading comprehension class. It is a class dealing with written discourse concerning works read and conclusions drawn from said works.
AP Calculus AB or Math Elective Prerequisite: Pre-Calculus /Trig. AP Calculus AB introduces the topics of differential and integral calculus. The course covers at least as much material as a standard first semester college calculus course. It is recommended for only those students who have maintained a high B average in previous math courses. AP Calculus AB prepares the student to take the Advanced Placement Calculus AB exam in the spring. If students score well they may be awarded one semester of college credit. Students should check with their chosen universities to see about the need to take the AP exam. Students in this course are encouraged to take the AP exam.
AP PhysicsAP Physics 1′ covers Newtonian mechanics plus rotational mechanics, as well as an introduction to electricity (Coulomb’s Law and simple DC circuits), and mechanical waves and sound. ‘AP Physics 2’ covers thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, optics, electricity and magnetism and modern physics. ‘AP Physics C: Mechanics’ studies Newtonian mechanics. Methods of calculus are used wherever appropriate. ‘AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism’ studies electricity and magnetism. Methods of calculus are used wherever appropriate.
Government/United Nations organizationThe class will provide students with basic information relating to their government. It will cover the basic structure of a representative form of government, the ways in which different factions within the government function (the balance of powers), and it will discuss the individual citizens’ role within government. In addition, it will provide a historical explanation as to why modern society has come to cherish republics rather than monarchical or authoritative governments. Lastly, it will focus on how resolutions are created and discuss the necessity of law within society.

As students progress through centuries of literature in a loose chronological arrangement, they will see how British and world literature has been shaped by concerns, values, and ideas that have intrigued, delighted, and challenged people throughout time.
AP StatisticsAP Statistics is designed to prepare students for the Advanced Placement Exam for college credit. The goals of this course are for the student to be able to obtain and analyze data, to interpret results of a statistical analysis, to design a study, and to be able to communicate findings both in writing and speaking. Main topics include: Exploring data, Planning a study, Anticipating patterns, and Statistical inference.
AP BiologyThis AP Biology course is designed to offer students a solid foundation in introductory college-level biology. By structuring the course around the four big ideas, enduring understandings, and science practices for students to develope an appreciation for the study of life and help them identify and understand unifying principles within a diversified biological world.
Contemporary World IssuesStudents analyze governments, economies, peoples, and cultures from around the world in this course. Instruction emphasizes the structures and policies of the United States and how they compare to other systems in the international community. Students apply critical thinking and research skills to examine current events and contemporary issues, including human rights, the strengths and weaknesses of globalization, America’s role in the international economy, the severe environmental threats facing many regions around the world today, how religion is often used to facilitate and justify violence, and America’s “War on Terror” and its impact on the Middle East and Islamic culture.

AP ChemistryAP Chemistry will cover content equivalent to what is presented in two semester of college general chemistry. Upon successful completion of this course and achievement of a satisfactory score on the AP Chemistry Examination, students may have the opportunity to receive general chemistry credits or place out of general chemistry classes and move into more advanced science courses during their first years in college. An emphasis will be placed upon problem solving skills, descriptive chemistry, development and use of models to explain chemical principles, and the prediction of products in chemical reactions.
